Update on Chrissy as of 7/15

I've finally got the cast off my leg and I'm doing great!!  It's so wonderful to be able to run and play like I love to do!!  I just can't get enough of running and playing right now since I was in recovery for so long.  But I am still looking for my forever home, so if you are interested in me, you better move quickly!  I'm so cute that I know I'll find my family soon!

Well, I've still got this darned cast on my leg! My 6 weeks of healing are finally almost up, and I'll go to the vet again for Xrays next week. Here's hoping they tell me some good news and the cast gets to come off. I'm tired of having to stay in my kennel most of the time. My foster mommy has had a hard time keeping me locked up, too. She says it isn't fair and I agree!! We both know it's for the best, but we are ready for me to be able to run around the backyard and play with my siblings. Mommy also hopes to see more of my personality. I'm definitely much more energetic than ERU was originally told, and that's okay, but I can't wait to show Mommy how fast I can run! I've had some accidents in the house, too, so Mommy doesn't know if I am fully housebroken or not. She thinks I may have had accidents because I was too excited.

Because I am so small (14lbs with spindly legs) I would not like to be in a home with children. Although I have not seen any children for a while, I haven't shown my foster Mom whether I like them or not, and because I am so fragile a very excited child could hurt me easily. I would like a home with other dogs, a back yard, and an owner who will let me sit in their lap. I am a very happy little girl but still very young and very energetic. Do you think you are the home for me?

Hello everyone,

My name is Chrissy and I've just come into rescue by ERU.  My former owners couldn't take care of me after I broke my leg, so this nice vet talked my owners into turning me over to the vet so they could look for someone to take care of my broken leg and then help me find a new home.  I have just had surgery this week on my leg and that went really well!  They had to put this pin in my leg, and I have to be nice and calm for several weeks while it heals.  But that's okay, I'm a really laid back, mellow girl so I don't mind sitting around for a while.  At least I know I'm going to be okay now!

Lots of nice people have donated to my surgery fund so far.  Wasn't that so nice??!!  I really appreciate all the help.  But there are still a few outstanding bills that ERU could use some help with if there are people that can still help.

I'm the sweetest girl you could ever ask for.  I love people and will get right in your lap (although right now you'll have to help me get into your lap!) and give you lots of Eskie kisses.  I'm a sweet loving girl, and you can expect me to be loving and deserving of your love and affection for years to come!  Oh, and I get along really well with other dogs too!

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
