About Chipper

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 06-037
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hi, my name is Chipper! I'm a 1-1/2 to 2-year old American Eskimo male who weighs 25 pounds, so I might be considered either a large miniature or a small standard-sized Eskie. I'm neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. I'm also housebroken, leash-trained, and I ride well in the car. (Don't I sound like just about the most perfect little guy?)

I get along with EVERYbody--other dogs, cats, human adults and children, strangers, you name it! I'm very tame and friendly in nature, have no aggression issues, and I don't try to be the alpha dog in my new foster home. I guess the only thing you have to watch out for with me is that I AM still in the chewing stage, so you have to be sure to keep things out of my reach that you don't want eaten up!

Though I'm a playful boy (after all, I am still pretty young), I'm also very sweet and lovable and affectionate. I love to give hugs and kisses and always be by your side. I especially enjoy sitting between two people on the couch, watching TV with you. I sure hope there are some good shows on this season! :o)

I have cute little eyes that my foster mommy says will cause you to fall in love with me the moment I take one look at you. She says I would make a great pet for any kind of family or household, including those with children and other pets. And I get so excited every time I see you, even if you've only been gone for a few minutes! I mean, with all the great things I have going for me, how can you resist me? HeHe!

My foster mommy says someone is going to scoop me up very quickly--will that someone be you? Wouldn't you love to have me in your life so I can show you how terrific I really am? I can't wait to be in my new forever home so I can give you every ounce of love in my little body!

If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Allen at: allen@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: hrdwrkpyz@comcast.net. Better yet, you can go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me!

There is an adoption fee required, and whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. I'm in Knoxville, TN with my foster mommy, Vicki.

To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. (We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.) If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Thank you and WOOF!
