Meet Chloe!

Chloe is a gorgeous miniature female Eskie, looking for her perfect new forever home.  She is a courtesy post on Eskie Rescuers - we are helping her owners find a new home for her.

Chloe is 7 years old and weighs 14 pounds, she is spayed and up to date on all her vaccines.  She has no medical issues other than a little gingivitis, and will probably need a dental in the near future.

American Eskimos are an energetic, playful and alert breed, with a high intelligence and a willingness to please.  They are generally high energy, and require daily mental and physical exercise.  Most Eskies are naturally wary of strangers, and tend to be very protective of their owners.   Eskimos need to be part of the family and require a firm, consistent, confident pack leader.

Like a typical Eskie, once Chloe is comfortable in her environment, she is loving, playful, energetic, loyal and protective.  However, you will not see these traits in her initially.  Chloe is nervous and fearful in strange situations and she is generally not good around strangers.  She will nip if she is afraid or stressed.  A move to a new home will be very stressful for her and she will be uncertain and fearful initially, until she learns her new routine and knows she will be safe and loved in her new home.

Chloe is not the right dog for everyone.  She needs a patient new owner and someone who is comfortable with adjustment/behavioral issues often common with rescued Eskies.  It is preferred that her new owner have owned American Eskimo's previously and be familiar with the breed's traits.

As an only dog, Chloe has not had to share her owner's affections with another dog and as a result, she is accustomed to being the alpha female in the home.  While she does get along with other dogs her size or smaller after she has had some time to get to know them, she would really prefer a home where she could continue to reign supreme.  "Playing" with another dog really doesn't interest her.  Once a diva, always a diva!

Chloe's new home should be with an active adult couple or single person, with no children.  Chloe is not comfortable around the sudden movements and high energy of young kids, and she feels threatened by them.

Like a typical Eskie, she is very alert and will bark.....sometimes quite a bit.  She wants to be with her family.  And yes, she sheds.
Chloe is located near Tallahassee, FL.  Her adoption fee is $100.  If you think you can provide the forever home she is looking for, please go to www.eskierescuers.org and complete an adoption application, or email dyanlaphan@aol.com if you have any further questions.
