Hi!  My name is Claire and I am looking for my new forever home.  I’m a bit shy and nervous around new people at first, but once I get to know you, I bond pretty quickly.  Well, that is with women.  I really love women and do well around them, but it’s pretty obvious that there was a man in my life who treated me very badly because I am very afraid of men.  The rescue people are trying to work with me and have me learn that men are fine too, but I don’t really believe that yet.  I need someone who is patient and willing to give me some training, because this is something that I haven’t had yet in my life! 

I have lots of energy and love to run around and play!  Given the opportunity, I’ll jump over a small fence and run around the neighborhood…I think this is fun!  So I really need a 6 foot fence to keep me in the yard. I do well with other dogs, but I see those pesky cat things and fun and games to chase around, so it would be best if my new home didn’t have cats. 

I am housetrained and I ride well in the car, so you can take me places with you.  When I get really excited, I will talk to you…I think that’s pretty fun!  I love to walk so I hope my new home will take me for lots of walks!  Since I’m nervous around new people, the rescue people think I would do best in a home with no small children.  I love to be petted and to have my tummy scratched, so that would be heaven!

If you are looking for a new companion and have the time to give me love and training, I’ll make you a wonderful new family member!  Please consider giving me a chance to be in your family!

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
