Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog.
Hi, my name is Cirrus! I'm a 7-year old miniature-sized American Eskimo male who weighs 18-1/2 pounds. My foster mommy says I'm a real sweetie, with an adorable puppy face! She also wanted me to tell you that these pictures really don't do justice to me, because she says I'm WAY cuter in real life! And when my mommy took me to the vet, I got lots of comments about how cute I am-AND he said you couldn't ask for a better dog!
I'm neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I'm housebroken and leash-trained-in fact, I just LOVE to go for long walks with you. My foster mommy takes me out walking in the neighborhood (I'll just keep on walking and walking forever, if you let me) or to the nearby park, where I like to run and romp all over the place! My foster mommy says I've perked up a lot since I've been with her and that I act much happier now than when she first got me. (That's because she's been so sweet to me and takes such wonderful care of me!) At dinnertime I bounce around and do twirls in anticipation of that yummy food! :o) I have a bit of a vision problem, but it's not serious and it doesn't slow me down in the least. Sometimes I do tend to bump into things (like my Eskie foster brother, which he doesn't especially like), but I don't do it on purpose--honest! Also I have a little trouble distinguishing between people in dim lighting. I'm good with kids, even when they insist on hugging me around the neck! (I tolerate that just fine.) I get along well with dogs, but because of my eyesight it might be best if I were in a home either without dogs or with dogs as low keyed as I am. My foster mommy has a cat that I haven't come in contact with yet, but it probably wouldn't bother me at all. In fact, I'm kind of oblivious to a lot of things going on around me! That may be partly because of my vision, but I think it's also because I have such a sweet temperament that nothing seems to bother me. I'm extremely easy to care for, because I'm not demanding. I don't bark much and I don't chew on things. If you don't pay attention to me for a few minutes I'm likely to wander off and take a nice long nap. I'm not the guard dog type and I have no aggression issues at all. I'm just a happy-go-luck little guy who loves to be the center of attention! My foster mommy says I'm happy just to be alive and that I deserve to be loved and pampered by my very own forever family-will that be you? Wouldn't you love to have me in your home and give me a chance at a wonderful new life? All I want is the chance to show you how sweet and loving I am! If you're interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Largo, FL with my foster mommy, Melanie. For more information on me, please contact Leah at: leah@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: melaniejprior@hotmail.com. You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me! There is an adoption fee required to adopt me. Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out our fosters as outdoor dogs. Thank you and WOOF! Cirrus! Eskie Rescuers United Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. |
