Standard American Eskimo
Hi, my name is Molly. I also answer to Molly Doodle and Molly Moo! You could call me Princess though, I’m sure I could get used to that title! I don’t know if I believe in “doggie astrology” or not, but I do fit my doggie birth sign of Leo, through and through. My birthday is July 27th. I am courageous. I love jumping on furniture to be close to humans and rocking in a rocking chair or swiveling round and round in an office chair by myself isn’t going to stop me from being close to you. I even like exploring the shower in my spare time. While I LOVE attention and petting, I can also be quite content being independent and being on my own. I am loyal. I will follow my humans just about everywhere they go. Some might call me a little diva Eskimo because I am not afraid to ask for attention whenever I see my human’s hands are free. I’ll even dig under the covers to try and find your hand so that you know I want to get a good belly rub. I do tend to like to be center stage! If I were to wear a mood ring, it would say “happy”. I am a full coated American Eskimo which makes me look so regal and lion like. Humans even stop their cars when I’m out walking, just to say how beautiful I am! You must like a fully furry queen to be lucky enough to be my master. While professional grooming isn’t necessary for my breed, I love the attention of a professional grooming and enjoy being brushed and pampered. Regular brushing will be a must for me to be as beautiful as I deserve to be. I am a full blooded American Eskimo, registered with the AKC if that sort of thing matters to you. My foster mom has all the paperwork, but I don’t even know what that means! I don’t need paperwork to know I am all Eskie. My first 4+ years started out pretty rough. I was passed along a couple times to people who didn’t really understand dogs or American Eskimos. Can you believe they actually made me live outside for most of my life? No American Eskimo is made for that!!! We are companion dogs! Because of my neglected past, I am heartworm positive, but I don’t let that hold me back and I hope that won’t hold you back from considering me either. My medicine is already paid for. You can talk to my foster mom, if that concerns you. I am being treated and look forward to my happy future. My foster parents have had Eskies for years, so they understand me and I want nothing else other than to please them and seek their approval so I can get more belly rubs. I admit that I can be a handful, but no more than a typical American Eskimo. Like many Eskies, it may take me a while to warm up to new people, but the more I get to see how good the world can be, the more I will change into a social butterfly. I never had the chance to learn how to play as a puppy, so my foster parents are teaching me just how fun and satisfying it can be to get my energy out by playing. I am still getting used to the idea though. Because I didn’t receive very much attention growing up, I am now in full force, trying to make up time by getting all the attention I can possibly get. You could call that a good thing or a bad thing. It really depends on how much attention you want to give to a dog. I’ll happily take all you have to give! I am overweight (sshh!), but I love long walks and have already lost a whopping 10% of my body weight in just a few weeks of being with my foster family. Foster mom thinks that I’ll be at my perfect weight when I’m around 19-22lbs, maybe less. If you think I’m gorgeous now, I’ll really be a knockout when I’m as petite as I should be. I like being active and I like being a couch potato (preferably smack in the middle of your lap) just as much! I currently share a house with 3 other dogs and 2 humans. I don’t need a real quiet house, but I don’t think I’d enjoy a house that’s always full of energy either. I enjoy my quiet time. Older kids would be OK with me, but I don’t think I’m ready for young ones who have limitless energy. If you think we might be a good match, please get into contact with my foster mom so we can learn more about each other. I really hope you could be my happily ever after!
