About Chubba!

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 05-048
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hi, my name is Chubba! I'm a 3- to 4-year old miniature-sized American Eskimo male who weighs...too much (hence my name!). My foster mommy says I'm overweight because I'm so cute you can't help but want to give me treats all the time! (I have her wrapped around my little paw. TeeHee!) I have a very long coat that will need frequent brushing to keep me looking so handsome.

My previous family had to give me up after our house burned down! Luckily everyone got out safely, including me, but my family had to find me a new home because they couldn't find a place that would allow dogs. They were heartbroken to give me up since they loved me so much, and now they want to make sure I go to the perfect home, with a family that will love and cherish me as much as they did.

I'm neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. I'm also housebroken and I walk pretty well on a leash. When we're outside, I'll pretty much stay right by your side, because I would hate to lose you! I don't care much for being crated, but I'll go in there if you insist. I also don't like to be left alone (I'm WAY too sociable) and will scratch on the door if you leave for a few minutes. But I soon settle down-that is, until I hear your voice when you come back. Then I go crazy until you let me out and make a big fuss over me! :o)

I'm good with most other dogs (especially the ladies!), and with cats as well. I'm not crazy about men with I first meet them, but once I get to know them I'm fine, as long as they take it slowly. I DO love the ladies, however, whether human or canine! It would be better if there were no small children in my new home, since I have not been around little ones (I do great with my foster mommy's older daughter). Also, because it takes me a while to get accustomed to strangers, I would really be happiest in a fairly quiet home that didn't have a lot of people coming and going all the time. My foster mommy says you shouldn't let new people run up to me, but rather let me come to them.

But don't let all that stuff about me put you off. I'm really very well-behaved, generally quite mellow and laidback. I'm not one of those wild Eskies I've seen around here-I am a real gentleman, and very loyal and affectionate too. To show you how much I love you, I'll lick you all the time! When my foster mommy goes to bed, I hop up on the bed and try to lick her to sleep. She has to hide under the covers to escape me! HeeHee! After that I go and lie down at the foot of the bed.

I'm a real love bug who loves to be with you. My foster mommy says I'm a gorgeous, handsome guy who deserves a forever family who will lavish me with more attention than she's able to do. She would love to keep me all for herself, but she has so many of her own, plus several fosters like myself. But she says you have to be pretty special to get me, because she is going to be particular about where I go. That's how much she thinks of me!

My foster mommy says someone is going to scoop me up very quickly, because I'm just perfect. Wouldn't you love to adopt me into your home and give me another chance at a wonderful life? If you're interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Carlisle, PA with my foster mommy, Gina.

For more information on me, please contact Wanda at: wanda@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: Justus4250@aol.com

You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me! There is an adoption fee required to adopt me. Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its fosters as outdoor dogs.

Thank you and WOOF!

Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
