Location: Union Dale, PA
My name is Nikki and I am two years old. My family was moving and couldn't take me with them so I ended up in a shelter. I was there for four months and have some reddish stains in my fur from laying in my urine, but they'll go away in time. My foster mom says I have the softest, most beautiful coat she's ever seen! I'm a little shy and it takes a while for me to trust someone, but once I do I am a very sweet, loving girl. I do have some problems with dominance, so I would need an owner to be firm with me to remind me where my place is in the pack. All I need are consistent rules to live by every day.

I follow commands quite well. I know sit, stay, down, and shake, and walk very nicely on my leash. Going for walks is my favorite thing in the whole world! I get along well with other dogs. I mostly ignore cats or just sniff them and walk away, but my foster mom thinks I probably need a house without cats because I have gotten a little rough with them here.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
