Toshi is a good boy. He is house trained and will scratch at the door to let you know he needs to go outside. He LOVES walks and rides in the car. He's not a big fan of jogging, or fetch. He's pretty lazy and extremely mellow, to be honest. His favorite thing to do is follow you around the house all day and sit at your feet or next to you. That's as close as he prefers though. He is not a cuddler. When you get home expect him to bring you a sock or other token to let you know he missed you. He won't chew the socks, but he likes to give them to you as gifts for some reason. If he can't find a dirty sock he'll rummage through a laundry basket until he finds you a fantastic sock present. He will let you know if he hears something outside, but typically only if it's someone at the door. Otherwise he is a very quiet dog. He is great with children and cats. We have a 3 year old and 6 year old, as well as 2 cats. Toshi gets along with all of them, even the cat who hates him.  He is 6 years old and we don't know how he gets along with other dogs. On walks he goes into protective pose

but does not bark or go after the other dog.

Those are his good qualities, but here's why we can't keep him: First and foremost, he needs a yard. Yes, he is house-trained. Yes, he will let you know several times that he needs to go outside. But without a fenced yard, expect to be outside holding a leash for 5-15 minutes while he sniffs the air and ground, then decide he'd rather try again later and do the same thing. I cannot stress enough how important it will be for your sanity to have a fenced yard. Secondly, he has pack-mentality. Expect him to bring a mouthful of food to you across the house and eat it in your presence wherever you may be. If we had a fenced yard his food would be outside. But we don't, so there's a trail of dog kibble around the house.

He is already fixed, and has all his shots up to date. He is micro-chipped, but I have no idea how to update that information. I can give you the shelter information so they can help you update the contact info. As far as maintenance goes, expect to shave his butt once a month, yes he will let you, and bathe and brush him once a week, which he also is very good about sitting still while you do so. We bathe him with baby shampoo, and then use a conditioner. His fur is VERY soft and will hold the scent of the conditioner for about a week. Sure you can take him to a dog groomer, but he is trained to behave in the tub, and it's very easy to do it yourself.

I will drop off Toshi anywhere in Tennessee. I will need to see that you have a fenced yard before I will re-home him. His name is Toshi, like Yoshi but with a T. It means intelligent, which he is. Very smart and eager to please dog. He is 30 pounds and fully grown at 6 years old. Let me know if you have any questions.

This breed is high maintenance. He requires grooming products or services and that adds up. If $200 is expensive to you, try a short hair dog. He will come with a high quality leash, collar, harness, bed, poop bags, bag dispenser, large bag of food, a food dish, tether, and toys.
