March 8, 2018 Update:  Jax is progressing with his training if you consider the student is a young, high energy, nosey Eskie.  Today I let all three Eskies loose in the house.  Great fun if you are nuts.  After two hours Jax calmed down enough for a five minute respite. Jax likes crashing through or slighty over everything.  He is in a great hurry to check out everything that is none of his business.  A serious note is that Jax still puts anything in his mouth.  This can cause serious choking hazards so he must be closely monitored when not crated.

Another high energy friendly dog(s) would be good for him.  They have to keep up with a one year old. He might love jogging.

Jax is not suitable for a first time dog owner.



Jax is a one year old bundle of energy.  He lived most of his life outside so he has absolute minimal house manners except he is 100% house broken.  Jax is submissive.

Jax is my wild child through no fault of his own.  He has come really far the past two weeks controlling his constant jumping and grabbing anything I happen to be holding.  He is just tall enough to lightly counter surf.

I am recommending formal training classes to help him speed up his "good boy" certificate award.  Right now he is not a complete joy as an inside only little love.

NO small children or people that are frail or need assistance with mobility.  Jax still gets over excited and jumps very high and scratches are pretty much a given.  He is also mouthy but I am working on that.

I have trained him that "bed" is a positive action and he now willingly enters his cozy crate at night.  I cover the wire crate with bath towels to simulate a cozy cave, as in nature.

He is fine with my 6# dog savvy cat but I do not leave them alone since my male Eskie does not allow fosters near her.

Jax is terrified at the veterinarian's and must be muzzled.  The ex-owner did not relay this to us.

Jax has been taken in to many local businesses here and he is a doll.  He even did well while I pushed a shopping cart.  He really is starved for attention.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
