Dobby is being fostered in MAINE.

Dobby was released to our rescue by his beloved owner who could no longer take care of him.  Dobby was much loved and had the best of veterinary care.  What Dobby lacked was life outside of an apartment.

Moving to Maine, along with living with four other Eskies, has opened his little eyes to how life can be.  Being young Dobby has made every pack mistake possible.  No blood has been drawn but daily he gets read the riot act from the rest of the adult pack.  He has made a friend of my four year old mini female and they love brawling and play fighting all day.

I have been working on Dobby's confidence with meeting new people and situations.  He is getting more comfortable going in to businesses and greeting people.

Dobby is submissive when he is not being a pain in the pantaloons to the other dogs.  On occasion when I speak firmly to him he will slightly pee.

Dobby is a puppy!  Any adopter must be willing to give up blinking as puppies are in to everything and everything goes in the mouth.

Leash training is not going well.  For only one moving part (the leash) Dobby can tangle himself faster than any other dog I have met.  Stairs are another challenge as he takes them, up or down,  three or four at a time.  Thump, thump, thump.  Loud but not pretty to see.

The current pictures are a bit old.  He has his beautiful adult coat now but after playing hard in the Maine mud and fallen leaves he is not the pristine boy that came here in October.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
