*********LOCATION NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FLA*****
Hi my name is Lacey, but most people call me Miss Lady Lacey.  You see I am quite a lady; I don’t jump on any furniture or beds. Life is good here at my foster home, after living in a caged environment my entire life. I never had a bubble bath, blow dry or brushed, I was matted clear down to my skin, my foster Mom tried for weeks to brush, comb, cut my mats out, but that didn’t work.  American Eskimo’s should never be shaved, our down coat keeps cool in summer and warm in winter,  so only in extreme cases should we be sheared like a sheep.  I was a “special extreme case” When my foster Mom picked me up at the groomer, not only had I shed my icky coat, but I immediately had developed an entirely new personally.

When I was pulled from the shelter, they had labeled me as aggressive, non-adoptable, will bite…..well my foster Mom thought she had picked up the wrong dog….I have never even slightly snarled or ever shown my teeth, nor do I have an aggressive bone in my body.  OOPs, I do become very fearful if you attempt to cage or crate me,  in my past  life of living in a cage,  I tried and tried to break out,  and as a result my little lower front teeth are worn down and I had scares on my nose,  but hooray they are fading.  OH those are very bad memories. So I am not crate trained and should never be crated.

With my new “DO” and new personality, I now run and jump in my fenced in back yard, I like to be petted and like to stay within a few feet of my people. I have even started to play with my housemate eskie.  Car rides are the BEST..I love to ride and again a perfect lady in the car, so I am surprised when my foster Mom does not take me everywhere she goes. I also love to go for a walk and again a perfect lady on my pink leash.

I sit, stay, and come with the help of hand signals, as my hearing is not too good. Love being a house doggie, but not yet a lap dog. I am up to date on my shots, neutered and heartworm pos, but being treated with the slow kill treatment, and will soon be heartworm free.

I get along with other dogs and kitties by pretty much ignoring them, even when our kitty here starts batting me when I walk by her…I’ve been told it’s really funny to watch.

So if you are looking for a pretty LADY, remember my name Miss Lady Lacey!  I am fostered in New Smyrna Beach, (central) FLA.

More about Lacey in FL

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
