Hi, I'm BABY of Florida!  I'm a very sweet and calm 4-year old girl.  My forever home needs to have a fenced yard, and must be in the south Florida area.   Once I get to know you, I'll want to cuddle with you on the couch and bed.  I'm a 100% inside-only pup.  I don't feel comfortable being outside, but my foster family has been helping me get through my fears outside and I'm starting to really enjoy going around the yard and sniffing around (with a leash and harness on).  I think outside reminds me of bad times when I was kept in a small crate with my mom in a yard.  Good thing ERU saved me! I've become so much happier!
I need a family that will let me take my time to get to know you and that will provide me the enrichment activities like going for short walks in your yard (with a leash and harness on), practicing my tricks and getting brushed and cuddled with.
Although I will pee outside, I'm trained to potty on training pads!  It's great because you won't have to take me outside if the weather is bad.
I like to be around other dogs because I feel more confident around humans if there is another dog around.  I'm very well trained.  I will take my turn for treats with the other dogs at my foster family's house.  I'm crate trained and I love my crate because I feel like it's a safe place I can go to if I feel scared or just tired.  I love to have my hair brushed and I don't mind being bathed, but the blow dryer is not my favorite.
I know how to do a nice sit, down, come, and I can walk well on a leash.  I will even put my own head through a collar or harness or slip lead if you hold it up for me.  If you ask me if I want to get pretty, I will come running because I know it means you're going to brush my hair.  If you want me to sit or lie down on a mat, towel, bed, etc., just ask me to do a Place.
I will do just about any trick or learn anything you want to teach me for a piece of chicken, meat, or any human treat you have.
I don't know how to play with toys like other dogs.  I don't think anyone ever gave me toys before ERU saved me, so my foster family is teaching me, but occasionally I do like to rip up the cardboard rolls from paper towels, and run around the house with them, if my foster family gives them to me.  Even though I'm young, I'm not very playful.  I'm more of a couch potato.  I like to lie next to you and hopefully entice you with my puppy dog eyes to get you to pet me for hours and hours!

I would be happiest in a home that has another couch potato, calm dog and a human that will cuddle with me every day, practice tricks with me (my favorite!), take me outside on short walks and brush my hair.  I'm not a very barky dog, but I will bark if I hear unfamiliar noises, so my foster family plays music for me.  Still, it means apartment life is not the best idea for me.  I want a quiet family life with lots of love, treats, cuddles, and enrichment.
Please remember that you must live in South Florida, and a fenced yard is mandatory for me.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
