Mikey is new to rescue and we are still learning about him. Mikey was an owner surrender because his owner had to move to an apartment and his fierce barking was a problem with the neighbors. He barks at everything, which is not unusual for an Eskie. When my husband and I went to meet him, Mikey met us at the door with teeth bared. He hovered a couple of inches from us while barking. He never showed any inclination to bite but I understand why people would find this very intimidating, especially kids. He calmed down with us pretty quickly when we sat down and let us pet him, but if either one of us stood up he would start barking again. I don’t feel his is aggressive but he sure talks a big game. He’s been good with us here at our home but he’s still going through the “what the heck is going on?” phase. Once he settles in we will have a better chance to know how he is on a day to day basis. He also needs a full vet workup including shots, neuter, and a dental so it will be a bit before I can get that all scheduled He will be available for adoption once he gets all his vetting done.If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Cheryl: cherilynn@petrochko.com.
