Hi, I'm Josie!  I was given up by my owners because they were moving and couldn't take me with them which makes me very sad.

Right now, I'm living the country.  When we go outside there are lots of trees and grass and birds and I love it!  Lots of places to sniff and birds to chase!  It is so much fun!

I don't get along with other female dogs because I have to be alpha dog.  I can boss around male dogs and they are ok with it!  Right now there is a young male dog living here too and we play!  I will be sad when he is adopted.  I am most curious about cats and Mom thinks I can live with them as long as they are dog savvy.  She is a wonderful mommy, and is working with me to get me ok with strangers and older children too.

I'm learning to not bark at every person and kid I might see running around.  I stare at them but don't bark or attack.   I'm doing my best to be a good girl!

Since I am very cautious with new people it would be best if I could met you with my foster mom before you adopt me.  She says she would travel up to 75 miles and maybe meet you somewheres inbetween you and her.

I'm up to date on all my shots, spayed, and heartworm negative.    If you have any questions, please feel free to email my foster mom .  I do have some emotional baggage, but I hope someone can look past that and love me anyway.  If you're an eskie-savvy person who has a fenced-in yard and a submissive female or a male dog, or no small children, then I could really use your help.

You can also visit our website to fill out an adoption application for me!!

Thank you and WOOF!

Josie!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
