After five years with my family they returned me to the shelter in West Virginia that they originally adopted me from. My family took me there because they could no longer care for me. I was kept at the shelter for a long time because the staff there really liked me. They let me have the honor of roaming around the office to greet the visitors there. Can you believe that none of those visitors wanted to take me home? The shelter contacted ERU and some good folks whisked me away from there just in the nick of time. They drove me straight to my foster mom in Maryland. She says I'm a super-duper sweetie! I love her, too, and I show her all the time. I love to be near her 24/7. Sometimes I even surprise mom and jump onto her lap for some extra attention. I'm not really a big kisser, but on special occasions I'll snuggle up to her and plant a few gentle kisses. At night I love to jump right up on the bed and curl up close to mom to sleep. Mom says I am very alert and intelligent. When she tells me to go into my crate I run right in without hesitation. By the way, I have excellent crate and house manners — never made a boo-boo in the house since I've been here. When I have to go out you can tell — mom says I do a very special "potty dance" that's hard to describe but once you see it you'll know it! My former mommy and daddy had three children ( ages 2, 5 and 8) and I loved them like my own! We got along great. I've never been around kitties so mom can't say how I'd do with them. Most of the time I'm good with the other doggies here, but sometimes I get jealous if mom pays them attention — or growl at them if they get too close to my food bowl when I'm kibbling (tho I don't mind at all if mom picks up my bowl). As for my vital statistics, I'm only 5 years old — just a mere "spring chicken" for an Eskie. My birthday is July 4th, 2002: born on the fourth of July! I'm a smaller girl, standing approximately 15 inches tall and weighing about 24 pounds. I am mostly white with some biscuit shading — including some cute freckles on my nose and beautiful biscuit-colored ears. My coat is short and very soft and silky. I have big, dark brown almond-shaped eyes that look like they're rimmed with eyeliner. I have all my important shots, am healthy and have been spayed so there won't be any puppies! I'm very quiet in the house but I will bark to alert you if someone strange is around. I love to romp in my big yard and see what's going on. I bark at the critters around here — groundhogs and squirrels and such. I don't dig or try to jump the fence. I can be frisky when the opportunity arises to play with the other doggies here or chew on my stuffed babies and make them squeak, squeak, squeak! At other times I just like to be quiet with my foster mom when we watch tv — then we snuggle and cuddle and say all kinds of mushy stuff. I think my foster mom is the best thing since kibbles but I do dream of finding my "furever" home where someone will commit to love and care for me forever. I promise I'll be the best girl ever!
