Lacey has been adopted. Even as a senior she has so much value. She has went to a home to be companion to another dog who has great separation anxiety until Lacey came into his life. Way to go girl! Hello my name is Lacey and if I take a little time to get my story out forgive me. I am a 13-year-old senior and should be enjoying my retirement years at the feet of my person. Instead, I am in a kennel at a vet hospital. My owner dropped me off saying I wasn’t acting right and to “euthanize” me. Not sure what that means but I have a feeling I would not be getting this chance to tell my story if the people there had done that “euthanize” thing. My person, the male in the family was sent away to a “nursing” home and the female person just did not have time for me. I started to get a pretty nervous stomach not having my person there to run through our routine and got pretty depressed. I just could not understand why he left and why I could not go with him? Well the people at the vet hospital ran all the tests on me. Checked my blood and examined me every which way. Fortunately I did not have to stand on my hind legs for them as I have a bit of arthritis and although I look pretty young can’t do that any longer! I do have some teeth issues and hopefully will get a good cleaning. They are all real though no caps or dentures to deal with. Tee Hee just a little human joke for you. Ok sorry I sort of got off track I told you it could take some time for me to get this story out. After all those tests I have a clean bill of health although I have a sensitive stomach and therefore eat a pretty bland diet. Presently it is Hills Z/D. I do not care for treats or toys except carrots I LOVE them! Some people may label me crotchety because I DO NOT LIKE to be picked up. In fact it is best to put a muzzle on me if you need to groom or exam me and it involves being picked up or being restrained in any way. I realize this and let you put the muzzle on no problem. A calm environment is important because if I am startled I will react with a quick snap of my chops, so I would prefer a home without children and a lot of activity. I mean I want to be retired and enjoy an easy, routine life lying by my person’s feet. I like to hop in the backseat of the car for an occasional jaunt and even a short walk once in awhile is ok by me. I have a real bounce in my step and I am a sweet older girl looking for that home to live out my life. The vet hospital people here have all become my friends and they want to make sure I find my furever home with the right person.
