Hello!  My name is Fluffy!

It doesn’t seem like I have had the best experience with people in the past, but somehow I continue to be the most loyal, loving dog my foster mom has ever met!  I currently live with two adult humans and another dog (6 year old female beagle) and we all get along really well.  At first, I wasn’t too sure about the new man in my life, I took to all the girls I met, but acted a little nervous around the guys.  My foster dad quickly became one of my best buds though!  I will need someone that can be firm but overall gentle.  I don’t like raised voices, I get scared and hide if I think someone is mad at me.

My foster mom has written a few things about me below:

For the first week or so, I wasn’t sure Fluffy had a voice!  She now barks when someone knocks on the door or enters the house.   Just a few “woofs” until I acknowledge that they are there.  She doesn’t bark at squirrels or rabbits or even other dogs or people walking by, just when someone comes into the home.

Fluffy is not aggressive at all with her food.  She is a quick learner; she knows “sit” and “leave it”.   She has great manners, sits patiently while we put the food in her dish and waits until we say “go ahead” until she starts eating.   We continue to stop her eating periodically with a hand in her dish or a petting session to look for any food aggression but no signs whatsoever!

Fluffy does really well on her walks.  She is very responsive to training and is doing better than I would have ever imagined after such a short period of time!!

She is okay with baths and being brushed.  She probably wouldn’t say it’s the highlight of her day but tolerates it just fine.  She has no qualms about being checked out, for a few minutes anyway, she will show you her whole mouth or in between her toes, not sensitive to mild poking and prodding.

She hasn’t shown any interest in toys, squeakers or ropes or stuffed toys.  Would just rather be hanging out with you!  She  initiates play with our other dog.  They are both submissive, so it took a while for them to get up the gumption to play.  They get along perfectly but she would still rather be hanging out with one of her favorite humans than another dog.  She is aware of where I am at ALL times.  Not bothersome or annoying, but very alert about where I am and what I am doing.  If I change rooms, she checks it out right away!

There is so much more to this great girl than can be put in her description so if there is anything in particular you are wondering about, please feel free to email me!  I will respond to all inquiries!  She is the sweetest girl I have ever met.  She is so eager to please, very loyal, keeps tabs on me at all times, not too intrusive, but always checking up on me if I switch rooms!  I don’t know the details of her past, but I know she deserves someone to love her with their whole heart!  She needs someone that has a patient and kind disposition, not someone that will yell at her often or be quick to anger.  After watching her with her foster dad, she will be absolutely fine with men or women, it just took her a little extra time to build trust with her foster dad.  She is absolutely a gem and ready for the forever home she deserves!   She is amazing overall and if you think you are ready for a long term commitment to an awesome little girl, please consider Fluffy!

Fluffy is housebroken, spayed, and up to date on all her shots.

Good with Dogs

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
