Monnessen, PA- Mocha is a beautiful finnish spitz. She is quite wonderful with all people I have introduced her to. Just like the American Eskimo dog, she is friendly and loves to be with people. She is a little bossy with other dogs. Finnish spitz, just like American Eskimo's are very protective of their surroundings and make excellent watchdogs. I would advise Mocha be in a home with no other dogs since she was raised since being a puppy as a single pet and may not be compatible with other dogs in a new enviroment.

One note on Mocha.... see does not react well to being in a crate. She becomes defensive and territorial in that situation. I have let her have free run in my house while fostering and she has done well, not getting into anything or having any accidents.

 

As far as children, it would be best that Mocha go to a couple or family with no small children since Mocha has never been around young kids.

 

Mocha was surrendered by a couple who were going to have a baby and didnt want to care for the baby and Mocha. Mocha would be a great companion for someone who loves eskies. She knows some commands and enjoys playing fetch. She is perfect on house training and loves rides in the car.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
