My name is Samson, but all my friends call me Sammie.  I was left at a shelter in Los Angeles by someone who named me Monster. I think they were trying to be ironic, because I am the most friendly, affectionate, and cuddly dog ever!

When I was rescued from the shelter, I had kennel cough. The angel who rescued me tried to clean me and give me a nice hair cut, but instead he cut my ear really bad. Once my cut and cough healed, I was neutered. Through all of that, I was still so happy that someone rescued me! But now, I'm neutered and up to date on all my shots, I'm finally starting to feel like myself again. I'm happier and spunkier than ever.

My foster mom thinks I may have been a long-term pet store puppy, because I really love attention, and being alone is kind of scary.  I follow my foster family everywhere, and roll over for belly rubs whenever I catch someone looking in my direction. I really like every human who I meet, even the cute, squeaky, little ones! I also really like other dogs. I've only seen a cat once in my life. It didn't want to cuddle with me too much, but that's okay, maybe another one will?

I'm getting used to being in a crate at night (even though I will beg to stay with you in your, much more comfortable crate!) but my foster mom says its best if I want to become totally house-broken. In the morning, I greet the whole family with tail-wags and kisses. Pretty much, if I'm not begging for belly rubs, I'm wagging my tail and trying to snuggle with someone!

Everyone who meets me loves me, but after everything I've been through, I'd really like to settle down with someone who I can love forever!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
