Hi! I’m Drew!  I’m a puppy looking for a forever home.  I’m not sure what happened very early in my life but I somehow started life as a stray running the streets in Michigan.  A shelter quickly got a hold of me but this shelter was soon to close which meant my future was very grim.  Fortunately for me, a good lady rescued me from the shelter and got me on my way to my new foster parents in Iowa!  I really like it here as I get to go on walks every day, play fetch in the backyard, go to the park where I meet new dogs and new people.  I love to play with my toys, get belly rubs, and just hang out with my foster parents! I’ll let my foster dad tell you more about me....

Drew is a handsome 20 lb. puppy with lots of energy and love to give.  When he first came to our home he was a bit thin, very scared, and cowered whenever we petted him.  Just with 3 weeks of training, playful activity, love, and a healthy appetite he has made great progress!

Drew is housebroken and stands by the door when needs to go do his business.  He now loves to get petted; especially belly rubs as those are his favorite!  Car rides are no problem for him, but walking on a leash is something he is just beginning to learn how to do..  He is a bit guarded around new people, but once he realizes they mean no harm he only wants to play and be petted.  Treats have been great motivator for learning his new tricks:  sit, stay, and lie down.  As with most Eskies he is very smart and has the potential to give lots of love and companionship to a lucky new family.  Give this awesome Eskie pup a chance!

Due to Andrew's puppy energy and the fact that he was a stray, a fenced yard is a must.

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
