LOCATION: Pensacola, FL

Hi my name is Duff and I am a sweet guy looking for my furever home. I was originally found on the streets and turned over to a shelter. ERU rescued me with the help of some other rescue angels in Florida.

I tested positive for heartworm and have completed the aggressive HW treatment. It still can take up to a year before I will show negative. I have recently been neutered and am recovering well from that. My foster mom did take me for a pretty vigorous walk and half way through it I just could not keep going. She ended up carrying me home…I love her so.

I love hugs and belly rubs and just to be with my family all the time. A home with a couple of kids to love on me would be great. The more humans there are the happier I will be. Is there a little boy or girl out there that would like a sleeping partner? I am the one for you. I would love a family that is pretty active and involves me in their activities.

I am also a pretty smart and playful guy if I say so myself. I have learned to go into my crate and do so on my own lots of times just to rest. My new foster Mom has not had to crate me at night since I am doing so well. I sit before I get my food and just wriggle in anticipation of my meal! I love TOYS and will take them from the other dogs and hoard them in my crate guarding them. My foster Mom is not having any of that though and I am trying to behave for her. I know she gets a kick watching me just nonchalantly taking a toy when no one else is paying attention and go back to my crate with it!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
