Hi, I'm Pookie! I'm looking for my forever home, and someone who will let me snuggle right up with them all day. If you look inviting, I will jump from the floor straight into your lap on the couch! I can get along with other dogs and cats, but it takes a good bit of work until I accept them. I would really love to be an only pet! I DO love attention - belly rubs, ear scratches, and my favorite is getting scratched right under my collar. When you hit the right spot, I'll lean my head into your hand until I'm practically laying on your arm! It takes a little while to win my trust. I am ok having new people over at my house, and even obeying commands and taking treats from them. But, if a new person tries to pet me, I get pretty freaked out and might show my teeth. It takes about two days of living with a person and seeing their routine until I get to be my snuggly self - whether that's a new adoptive family, or even a boarding facility. For that reason, I think I'd be best with adults or more mature kids only. One of my front legs is kind of funny-shaped - I think I must have hurt it when I was a puppy. It doesn't bother me one bit, except that I get tired and have to rest on long walks. I probably wouldn't be the best jogging partner, but I jump and run around just fine (and it doesn't interfere with snuggling at all!). I have a gorgeous, amazingly soft white coat. I am perfectly house-trained and will walk over to the door when I want to be taken for a walk. I don't have any anxiety if you leave me alone for a while, and I think my crate is the greatest bedroom ever. I love car rides, and I can sit, high five, stay, go away, and come on command - I'm very smart! I do tend to pull on the leash, but I'm just so excited!! Well, what do you think? Could I share that spot on the couch with you? If you have any questions, you can reach my foster mom Bari at barijane@gmail.com.
