Hello!  My name is Cruzie and I’m looking for my new forever home.  My former family gave me up because one of them became allergic to me.  I was sad but I’m looking forward and excited to find my new family.  I have a few health problems but they aren’t too bad.  The biggest issue I am facing right now is that I have to lose a bit of weight.  Hey – it happens to the best of us!  I’m working on that now by eating less and getting more exercise and so far it’s going pretty well.  When I lose more weight I should have less pain in my joints.  Right now, I do have some pain which the vet is treating with some special food and some pain medication.  But that should get better as my weight decreases.  I’m working really hard to get in better shape.  Maybe my new family will want to lose weight and get in better shape with me!  :)

I am completely housetrained and get along really well with people.  I do well with other dogs and cats too.  I’m just an all-around good natured boy!  I do well with older kids but the younger ones make me a bit nervous.  I would probably do fine with smaller kids if there is an adult to watch me to make sure I don’t get too freaked out.  I’m just not used to being around the smaller people!

Overall, I’m a really well adjusted and loving boy, and I would really love to find my new home for the holidays!  If you are looking for a loving boy to fill your days with love and happiness, please consider giving me a chance!  If you are interested in me, the first step is to fill out the adoption application to get the process started.  I hope I hear from you soon!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
