ADOPTED December 3, 2013.

Nov 29th:  Nugget has been with me almost two weeks and has to be the most charming, funny little "bug" I've ever met.  Although five years old Nugget acts like a one year old with the exception of not chewing inappropriate items.  He has fit in really well with my three Eskies and another foster boy.  That he has one good eye doesn't stop him from seeing every opportunity to steal a toy, grab a treat or push the big guys out of the way to get all my attention.  Nugget jumps on me whenever he can.  I think it's just for attention and can be corrected.  He has a funny seal like low bark which he uses when frustrated he does not have the toy of the day.  When really frustrated Nugget paws the ground like an enraged bull.  I laugh and the other dogs don't seem intimidated by Nugget's show of force.  He has no aggression but when first here gave me some attitude about not going in his crate.  He goes in but there's usually some drama first where he sinks to the floor and rolls on his back.  He doesn't have to be crated in his forever home.

Hi everyone!  I am sweet, adorable, and affectionate little Nugget.  I just arrived in MD from SC where I had been in a shelter for two months.  My owner surrendered me because they could no longer care for me.  I was living outdoors on a chain and was not getting heartworm preventative so now I have heartworm.  I have already started the gentle treatment and am doing very well.  Please click on the gentle heartworm treatment link on the left for more info.  I am blind in my left eye but my right eye is perfect and the ophthalmologist said there are no issues or concerns.  I love to go for rides and for walks and I love exploring in my big back yard.  I enjoy flying too!  Thanks to Pilots n Paws I got to fly from NC to VA.  I get along with the other dogs here.  I love to be by my foster mom's side and sometimes on her lap (I am a little fellow).  If you are interested in meeting me please e-mail my foster mommy Heidi at hortmeye@gmail.com

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
