Finnegan is very sweet and shy at first. But extremely loving and gives kisses. He spent the last 3 months in a small back yard barking at the neighbor's dogs and playing wtih sticks.  He has a lot of energy and is now a pretty undisciplined puppy. His owner took him to dog training when she first got him but once she became too disabled to care for him he became very much a puppy again. He is very smart and trainable. I already retrained him to sit. It will take him time to adjust to any new situation. He needs structure and patience. He is having fun with his 2 human foster sisters (10 and 12), 2 Eskimo foster brothers and is still trying to figure out what the 2 cats are all about.

Update: Wow. my foster mom says I am learning. I love to socialize in the dog park. I meet every dog and their people. I love to run and play, I have a lot of puppy energy. I still need guidence and a lot of patience but I am a love, at least that's what they tell me. I will need training too. I read the Sunday paper from beginning to end but my foster family wasn't too happy about it. I also can be a bit protective, like most Eskies, when friends come over but my foster sister had an over night guest and we had a blast! I am even better with the cats. They taught me to respect their space and if I don't I am easily corrected. I'm very curious and love to investigate which can sometimes get me into trouble but I'm told often that I'm a good boy.  I even love bedtime, I get to say good night to everyone, then when the lights turn off I sleep next to my foster mom's bed.  I'm looking forward to my forever home.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
