Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog.
Hi, my name is Larry! I'm a 4-year old standard-sized American Eskimo boy who stands about 17 inches tall and weighs about 28 pounds. In my previous life I was a "puppy mill" dog, which meant all I was used for was to breed Eskie puppies. I wasn't very well taken care of until I was rescued by the nice people at Eskie Rescuers United, and now I'm very lucky to be living with my wonderful foster mommy who takes such good care of me. :o) I'm recently neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I'm also housebroken. My foster mommy says I'm a VERY clever little guy, because I know how to open doors! She says my new home will need to have a fenced-in yard, and I'd prefer to be with someone who will take me on those long walks that I enjoy so much. I get along very well with other dogs (as you can see by the pictures of me with my good friend, Foxy, the German Shepherd) and am also good with kids. I'm a real cuddler, and love to lounge with you on the couch while we watch TV together. I even like to be groomed! I'm shy until I get to know you (and know that you won't hurt me); I follow my foster mommy everywhere because she treats me so nicely. I'd love to have a chance to show you how wonderful and sweet I can be! Wouldn't you love to have me in your home and give me a chance at a wonderful life? I know I'm waiting for my new forever family-will that be you? You can see how handsome I am!!! If you're interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Leon, KS with my foster mommy, Brandi. If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away! Please contact Liz at: liz@eskierescuersunited.org for more information on me! You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me! Thank you and WOOF! Larry!
Eskie Rescuers United
|
Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.
There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
