Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog.
Hi there! My name is Caesar - all hail! :o) I'm a 7-month old miniature-sized American Eskimo pup who just came into rescue. I'm your typical high-energy puppy who loves to play. My previous owners couldn't handle that so they kept me in a crate most of the time. Can you believe that?
I'm scheduled to be neutered very soon, but otherwise I'm current on all my vaccinations. I'm heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. I can be considered housebroken, but since I AM still a puppy, you'll need to supervise me and make sure to take me outside when I have to go. I'm not completely leash-trained, but we Eskies are a very smart breed, so I bet I'll catch on to that in no time! I love everybody, and as long as I'm socialized properly and receive the necessary obedience training, I should turn out to be a super pet and loving companion! It would be terrific if we attended puppy socialization and obedience classes together--that would really help us bond! Since I'm still in need of some training, it might be better if my new home had adults and older kids who can help me learn my lessons properly. Like all puppies, I need lots of personal attention and good exercise to help me become that super pet I know I'm destined to be! And because I'm a fun-loving boisterous youngster, my new home should have a secure, fenced-in yard. I'm a VERY sweet little boy who needs a forever family that can devote plenty of time and love (and discipline) to make sure I grow from a playful pup into a well-mannered adult you'll be proud to show off to all your family, friends and neighbors. Won't you adopt me into your home and shower me with love and affection? I promise to give you all my love in return! Once my new foster mommy has had a chance to get to know me better, she'll tell you more about me--that is, if I'm not adopted right away! If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Wanda at: wanda@eskierescuersunited.org. Better yet, you can go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me! There is an adoption fee required, and whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. I'm in Belford, NJ with my foster mommy, Renee. To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. (We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.) If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
