Hi, my name is Foxy Lady--and you'd better believe that I am! I'm a 14-month old miniature-sized American Eskimo female who stands 14 inches tall and weighs 18 pounds. Don't you think I'm just the cutest girl ever? (Wait, I mean lady--Foxy Lady, that is--and not Foxy GIRL either! Hehe!) My fur is growing back from the summer haircut I got, but I don't have that thick undercoat that Eskies usually have. I'm easy to wash and brush out, and I don't mind being groomed in the least. I have had many experiences already in my short life that I would have preferred not to have gone through. My first owner traveled a lot, so I spent most of my time at the kennel. When he got very sick, I had to go to a new home, with a nice family that had another dog and kids who loved me. But my world changed again after they had a new baby, because they said I was too loud and playful around the baby. That's how I ended up here in my new foster home. I'm spayed, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. I'm 95% housebroken, and hopefully by the time I'm adopted I'll be 100%, because I'm learning so much here every day! I AM crate-trained and very socialized with meeting new people (the only good thing that came out of being boarded at the kennel all those times!). I enjoy going for car rides and walks on the leash, but I REALLY love zooming around our fenced-in yard. (My foster mommy says I look like a little Arctic fox when I run around the yard!) All that exercise gets me all tired out, so I'm better behaved when I'm inside. (Unfortunately I was never taught proper doggie manners by my original owner, so sometimes I can be a bit of a brat.) I get along well with other dogs, and I can play with the best of them. Though I'm very petite in appearance, I love to chase all the boy dogs here at my foster parents' home! (I make them do whatever I want to--I like bossing those boys around! Just call me crazy like a--well, a Foxy Lady! Hehehe!) I might be too exuberant for cats, unless they like to play with active dogs like myself (or they like being chased!). I'm good with children, but I AM very bouncy and playful, so if my new home has kids, they'll need to be as energetic as I am! I'm not food or toy aggressive, and my foster mommy and daddy are working with me every day on my manners. Our neighbor lady laughs when she sees my foster mommy outside with all of us in the front yard. She says we look like a bunch of sheep from across the street! Silly neighbor--who could possibly confuse us gorgeous Eskies with those funny critters you have to count to try to get to sleep?! :o) I enjoy chewing on my Nylabones and playing with all the toys here (they keep me out of trouble!). I am so playful and funny to watch, but I also love being with you and snuggling with you on the sofa. Wouldn't you love to have a sweet lady like me in your life? I know I'm waiting for my new forever family--will that be you? If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Leah at: leah@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy and daddy directly at: kim@eskierescuersunited.org. You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me. There is an adoption fee required, and whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. I'm in Palm Beach Gardens, FL with my foster mommy and daddy, Kim and Jeff. To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. (We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.) If I'm not local to you (as explained above) and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs. Thank you and WOOF! Foxy Lady!
