Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog.
Hello, my name is Merlin! I'm a 1-1/2 year old standard-sized American Eskimo boy who stands about 17 inches tall and weighs about 29 pounds. I am super sweet and very lovable! I'm growing my hair back out, so I will be even MORE handsome when my coat grows out completely! I'm neutered, current on all of my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I'm potty trained and kennel trained too. I ride very well in the car and love to go for rides! I am very good with kids - even small ones. So far I'm getting along well with my foster mommy's other dog. We're not sure about cats, but I have SO much energy that maybe it would be better if I were in a home without them. After all, I want as much attention on ME as possible! :o) I'm very playful and a very fast runner. My foster mommy thinks I'd be an ideal candidate for agility training! I'd make a great play pal and companion for you and your entire family. Wouldn't you love to have me in your life and give me a wonderful new forever home? If you are interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Crestview, FL with my foster mommy, Ana. If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away! Please contact Liz at: liz@eskierescuers.org for more information on me! You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuers.org and fill out an adoption application for me! Thank you and WOOF! Merlin!

|
Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.
There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
