Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog.
Hi, my name is Ruger! I'm a 7-month old standard-sized American Eskimo boy who stands about 16-17 inches tall and weighs about 37 pounds. Just take a look at my face and my trademark Eskie smile. Can't you see what a handsome and happy-go-lucky little boy I am? I'm neutered, current on all my shots, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention, as well as on flea and tick prevention. I'm also housebroken and crate-trained, so I must be a very smart puppy indeed! I am a VERY sweet young guy, very social, and I just LOVE to give kisses! I'm great with kids and all other people, and good with other dogs. I even like cats! I'm the perfect dog for an active family with young children. Won't you take me into your home and find out for yourself how lovable and loyal I can be? I'll always be your faithful and loving companion and friend! If you are interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Simpsonville, SC with my foster mommy, Leah. If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away! Please contact Liz at: liz@eskierescuers.org for more information on me! You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuers.org and fill out an adoption application for me! Thank you and WOOF! Ruger!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.
There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
