UPDATE 11/13/06--I HAVE AN ADOPTION PENDING. Hello gentle people! My name is White Shadow and I'm a very a sweet and calm fellow. I'm very easy to get along with - I do well with cats, dogs and people. I think I would do best in a quiet, household - gentle, older children might be fine, but a young, active household is probably not my speed.
I'm a handsome guy but I'm a little camera shy, my foster mommy says that I kept hiding from the camera. I love the simple things in life - air conditioning, yummy treats, and a nice warm lap. If you walk me in the morning when it's cool, I'll even prance a bit for you. I'm quiet and laid back for an eskie and I'm very well mannered. I walk nicely on a leash, I'm housebroken and crate trained and I like to go for rides in the car. I like to keep an eye on my humans and follow them around the house - that's the eskie in me. The place I'd like the humans to be is on the sofa though. Let's curl up together and have a good snooze... and if your hand is free to give me a belly rub, well gosh golly, that is heaven. Do you have a lap waiting for a sweet fella like me? If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Deborah: deborah@eskierescuers.org. You can also visit our website and sign-up to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our adoption process. Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. I'm in Memphis, TN right now, but will be going up to Deb's swinging new pad in Rockin' Rockford, Illinois :o) To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. (We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.) If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). There is a $150 adoption fee for me, and please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs. Thank you and WOOF!
