Thor is a sweet, cuddly, playful, house broken dog who wants nothing more than to hang out with his people. If he's not sitting by your feet, he's sitting in your lap. If he's not playing with you in the back yard, he's doing zoomies, trying to get you to chase him. He doesn't seem to care much for toys, he seems to prefer chase and light "wrestling". He is a bit cautious of new people, but not fearful and after a few minutes, he's comfortable and back to his normal snuggly, silly self. With time and socialization, he will probably greet everyone like a best friend. Like any young American Eskimo, he has a lot of feelings he needs to share, but in just the few days he's been with us, he's starting to learn that he doesn't need to bark all the time. He does bark when he's left alone, but we're working on that.
He seems to want to be friends with every animal he meets too. With bigger dogs he needs some space at first, but after he figures out they want to be friends too, he's very social with them, again with time and socialization, he most likely will start to greet every dog with gusto.
Also, his eyes get a little crossed when he gets really excited, it's probably the cutest thing ever.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers. There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
