My name is Fortune. I am just a young lad. I am just over a year old. I was taken from my previous owner due to neglect. My former owner did not have a home. We lived in motels. Problem is when she would not pay the bill she would get kicked out and then would leave me behind. So the motel owner would have to track her down to come get me. Well, the last time this happened the hotel manager called the local animal control. I had been locked in the room for days without anyone coming to get us. When animal control finally came to get me. They took me to a jail. I was only 6 months old at the time. I had to live in animal control for the next 5 months till the case went to court. My owner was found guilty of neglect, and then she went to jail. I was allowed to go to rescue. So for most of my life I have had very little human contact. I am very starved for attention. I have no manners at all. I love everyone. I am a very big boy and full of myself.
Well, I got into foster care and my foster Mom realized since I had no manners at all I needed some really structured obedience training. Much more than she could give. So guess what....I am back in Jail again!! Yep hard to believe all I have been thru and here I am in jail. A real jail. I am in a program called "hounds for Prison Education." I live in a cell with 2 prisoners. They are teaching me proper behavior. I am learning all kinds of new things. Best of all I have someone with me all day and night. I am getting lots of attention. Everyone says I am so friendly and beautiful. I love learning how to be a good dog. You can visit my website at WWW.hopedogs.org You can see the progress I am making. I just went into the program so watch for my updates on my progress. If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Gina at: justus4250@aol.com or gina@eskierescuers.org.
