Hi, I'm Harvey, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE to be touched. Sit me in your lap and I will just melt. Every new person I meet, I walk over and lean against their leg so they can start petting me. I even think grooming is the greatest time - whatever, just so long as I'm getting petted! In fact, I think that if someone sat down and started petting me and never stopped, I would never move from that spot!!

I came into ERU in pretty rough shape. I had a big gash on my side, my coat was matted and filthy, and I badly needed some dental work. Now I'm on the mend. My wound is all healed up and my foster mom gave me a sweet new haircut. My coat is still a little patchy (foster mom should NOT consider a second career in hair styling!), but with better nutrition and some time, it will grow in and be gorgeous! I have some weakness in my back legs so I won't be making any flying leaps onto the couch, but other than that I move around just fine. I have some mild separation anxiety, but if you distract me with a tasty treat while you are leaving, I do ok. I should not be homed with a cat - I am way too interested in the one in my foster family's home!

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
