Meet Harry......or PRINCE Harry, as he likes to think of himself. Or just THE PRINCE will also suffice! Harry “talks” in order to communicate his needs (I need go outside to potty, I’m very bored so please play with me with toys, please fill my water bowl), but often he just likes to bark for no apparent reason. We think Harry has ALOT to say and wants everyone to know what’s on his mind. So NO apartments, condominiums or attached homes for Harry, as neighbors and HOA’s tend to not appreciate a barking dog. If you adopt Harry, you will need to be patient and work with Harry every day on our trainer‘s recommendations to control his barking. Often a dog that barks is bored - so physical and mental activity, stimulation, games, training and interaction will all be very important for Harry to have a balanced life. Harry loves all people and visitors but may initially “talk” to them since it’s his way of inviting them to a game of fetch or tug-of-war. In his mind, more visitors means more playmates! Harry loves to play with squeaky toys & tug-of-war toys. He will often bring his octopus type toy to invite me to pull on the legs for a fun match. He also love, love, LOVES car rides & we were told he loves riding in a golf cart. If you take him for a walk, he will walk gently on a leash & ignore any kitties you walk by. He also ignores my parrot. Harry is very gentle & will take treats very softly from your fingers. He loves to practice his tricks in exchange for little treats. He also allows us to brush his very thick and long fur. So....that means he sheds a lot and needs regular grooming. Harry does not like the FL heat in the least, and would love to get adopted and hitch a ride north in May with a snowbird. If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, playful & well-mannered boy who gets along with other dogs & loves people, Harry is wonderful 6 year old boy who would love to be your best buddy. Harry is located in Gainesville, FL. If you are interested in adopting him, please fill out an online adoption application at www.eskierescuers.org and for questions email contact@eskierescuers.org
