Hi everyone, I'm Charlie of GA.

I found myself without a home recently, not sure why since I love everybody and everybody seems to love me.  My foster mom said the vet thinks I’m 4 yrs old.  Makes sense, I still have the heart and soul of a young dog, I love to play and run, romp and bark at the squirrels.  I have several doggie friends at my foster home, two girls and two boys, I get along with them all but would love to know what it’s like to have my own person to love and play with, another doggie playmate would be nice too, I just like LOTS of attention.  My best friend at my foster home  is Sugar another eskie , she’s a cutie and we play for HOURS, I really like the doxie here too, I’ll lay on the floor and play with him, since he’s too short to reach me.  See, I’m a little taller than most full eskies, my ears are pointed and perky, but I’m a little bigger, my coat is pure white but not quite as fluffy as a full eskie, but who misses all the fur to clean up anyway?  And the real surprise, I don’t have an eskie tail, I have a nub, I think I was born that way, frankly, I don’t miss a tail, my short tail is just fine, actually it’s quite stunning, it twitches when I’m happy and I never have to deal with dried leaves or burrows caught in it, like my girlfriend Sugar, she’s always got leave in hers.

I LOVE to eat, have a great appetite and I’m pretty neat with it all, I don’t fight for others food, but I’ll never turn down a chance to clean out their bowls if they left food.

Did I tell you I have lots of energy, I love to go for rides and adventures, but need a strong willed  person to make sure my energy is directed to proper  exercise and/or play and not just running around like a wild boy…I just get so excited when I’m around others, I just want to jump for joy and run like crazy. So harnessed and leashed at all times when out and about, but that’s ok, people can’t resist me, they love to pet me and I LOVE it.

While I love to play and run around I also love to just sit and be close to my foster mom and doggie friends.  My foster mom says I’m a cuddle bug, I usually sneak on the bed during the night so she’ll pet me first thing in the morning.  I just LOVE attention, can’t get enough belly rubs, love to sit and cuddle on the couch too or I’ll just sit on the floor if I’ve missed the chance for the spot next to my foster mom.  I’m ok with that as long as I’m close to someone.

So basically, I’m a young hearted boy with lots of energy that needs someone to guide my energy in the right direction.  I love other dogs, people and even got along with the cats at the vets office, however, I was surrendered for chasing the cat!  I need a home with humans that offer me lots of love and attention with maybe another younger dog as a playmate.  I love to be with people and need to be part of your daily life, not outside alone. Fenced yard preferred.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
