Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog.
Lovely boy with a ton of energy. Is very shy at first but once he gets to know you, is a total love. He will need a patient and experienced Eskie owner who is able to give him space and time, who will know when not to push him into doing things. Storm is afraid of other dogs, but there's no aggression, he will growl and run and hide. Once he gets to know his housemates he will be dog selective, but if he picks a dog friend he is extremely friendly to them. Proper introduction should be given when there are other dogs. He is protective of his food and should be fed in a separate area.
Storm requires a fenced in yard. He is an escape artist and that includes his harnesses , he can jump at least 4 feet high . Storm is a high energy boy who will jump up on people in excitement. He could use some training when it comes to manners in that department. He will put his front paws up on you to get a hug and he knows the “sit” command. When he first meets new people coming into the house he will bark at them but he does eventually warm up after some time. Stormy does not like crates and will growl if you try to push him into one. If he is not happy with something you want him to do he will growl and show teeth. He doesn’t like his rear touched and will require a muzzle for grooming or going to the vet. <pet.gif> More about Storm of TNGood with Kids, Somewhat vocal, Does Good in the Car, Requires a yard, Leashtrained, Likes to play with toys, Playful, Timid, Eager To Please For more info contact "Jensen, Nancy L" <Nancy.Kelly@westchester.com>
