Hi everyone!  My name is Wilbur and I am a very nice boy.  I am loyal and loving and just want to be wherever you are.  When I see you I will wag my tail, no matter how short a time we have been separated.  My previous folks dropped me off at a shelter because they were getting divorced and neither of them wanted me :(  But that's OK, because my foster-mommy told me someone very special was going to adopt and care for me which is what we all deserve.

There are four other dogs here but I don't interact with them at all.  I would be happy in a home without or with them, as long as they don't try to play with me too much.   I love to go for long walks and I love spending time in my yard.  I like riding in my foster-mommy's truck.

I think I was hit be a car a long time ago because I don't use one of my back legs much.  But I don't really miss it, I get along just fine.

I was almost euthanized at the shelter because I am heartworm positive.  Thankfully ERU rescued me - they are treating me with monthly ivermectin and doxycycline and I should be heartworm negative in less than a year.

Good with Dogs

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
