LOCATION: Lakewood, OH Happy Girl! Happy Girl! That’s me! My name is Daisey and I am bright as sunshine. I am so happy to be out of that shelter. My family took me there because they said I jumped up on people too much and scared the farm animals. I love to bark! Dogs bark! And Eskies are known to keep up the image. My new foster mom is working on both of these not so charming habits of mine. I was in a family with lots of yelling children and activity and can be startled by sudden moves towards me. In fact I sometimes react with a snap so I don’t really want to go to a home with small children that do not understand or respect my space. I am lousy at first impressions as I bark like mad. My foster mom tells me this is because I was never taught how to greet people properly. I do know a few commands such as sit, stay, down and come. I sit before you open the door and sit before crossing the street. I also “come” when called, even though I may see a hole in the fence that looks real inviting to sneak through. I love car rides, baths and walk well on a leash. I do beg for people food a little, by sitting and staring at you or blinking my eyes continuously. I saw that in movie once. I won't take the food though unless you tell me I can. My foster mom has tested me on this several times and even if I am left alone with it will not take it. I love to cuddle with you in bed…under the covers…because I like to play peek-a-boo. The first time my foster mom raised her arms up I crouched on the floor and squeezed my eyes shut waiting for the “smack” I was going to get. But she did not hit me. She has been working with me to show me she would never hit me. I also do not like rough play as it reminds me of beatings. I do much better if you speak to me in a gentle, soft voice rather than a harsh mean one. I am housetrained and do not chew on things. I mean honestly I outgrew that habit a couple years ago. I am only 4 years old and have a lot of love and Eskie kisses to dish out to a furever home. I can be left alone in the home without destroying anything and just love to be next to you while, you read, watch TV or work on the computer. Again my foster mom is working on building my confidence when meeting new people so I don’t scare them with my over enthusiastic barking. Actually it is me that is scared trying to hide behind all that noise. I am up to date on my shots and have been spayed. I have a bit of a cough that we are going to get checked out and could lose a couple of pounds. <red> Do you think you would like me to become your new family member? Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered).
