Alicia is a 4 yr old American Eskimo Dog who comes to us as a "breeder sellout." We took many dogs from this breeder to prevent them from going to a puppy mill, which is where they were headed if rescue had not intervened. Alicia is a gentle soul who is shy, likely due to living her life as a breeder. We are confident that once she is settled in a home of her she will come out of her shell. Her foster has many dogs currently so having one on one time with any of them is a challenge. This is not the best setting for a shy dog who needs to learn that she is safe and start to open up. Although she is shy, she is very sweet. She will let you cut her nails, brush her beautiful coat, or do anything, and she never offers to bite or even growl. She is very docile. If you noticed her holding her leg up in some of her photos, don't worry. She is not injured, this is just a nervous behavior for some dogs. Alicia is currently in a foster home with a 10 yr old little girl who she does well with, as well as many other dogs and a couple of cats who think they are dogs. Alicia weighs roughly 20lbs and is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on prevention, spayed, and microchipped. She is using puppy pads (its hard to housetrain with multiple untrained dogs in the home). Alicia is with Adopt a Stray Rescue and is located in Arkansas. Transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations.
