UPDATE 01/16/2010:  Hello, A lot has happened in the last couple of months & I'm now living with my new foster mommy.  I have made great progress under her care but I still have a lot of special needs, and because I'm a bit of an old gal I can be grumpy at times.  My foster mommy renamed me Gummy Bear because you see I don't have a lot of teeth left!!!  LOL  Here are some notes I would like you know about me.

Although I only have a couple teeth left, 8 to be exact, my mouth is feeling much better thanks to the funny pink medicine my grandma religiously squirted into my mouth 3 times a day. I would always know it was coming when she picked me up in my pink bear blanket. Sometimes I would give her a little lip just for the fun of it, but secretly I love the bubblegum medicine.
I sleep a lot during the day, and all through the night, which makes my foster mommy very happy as she is quite busy during the day and has to go to work early. I cherish my time with my foster mom in the mornings before work, and I spend my days sleeping near my grandma's feet while she works. She needs a lot of help on her computer, you know! When my mom FINALLY gets home from work, I wake up and bound around the house following her as best as I can. I can't see so well anymore, and I can't hear. When she disappears, I have to use my sense of smell to find her. Usually she comes and finds me first! I love warm showers and baths, especially the heated towel at the end. I hate it when people touch my paws, or when they come up and touch me without properly greeting me first. I am working with my foster mom on the paw issues. She is relentless but seems to accept when I make a face at her and complain, as long as I don't bite. Yes, yes, I know I shouldn't bite, but it's gonna take some time to train this old habit out of me. I love mornings and I love eating! My foster mommy and grandma have made sure they buy food I can "gum", it's hard to chew with so few teeth. I have gained 5 pounds and now weigh 15 pounds at last check.
At night and on weekends, when my mom comes home, she takes me in the truck with her wherever she goes. My favorite trip is to the barn where I get to watch her ride her horse and socialize with all the other people, dogs and cats.
Ok I guess that's it for now! Thank you for stopping by my page and supporting ERU. I am so glad I was rescued!

Are you that special person who can love me forever??  If so please contact my foster mommy at keviscorky@aol.com.  Hugs & kisses, Gummy Bear

Hi everyone,

My name is Lady Snow, but you can call me Snow for short.  I'm a tiny little senior eskie whose former family dropped me at the shelter because they moved.  The shelter called these nice rescue people and told them they had a 10 year old sweet girl - that's me - and I wasn't doing well at the shelter because I was so upset!  So the nice rescue people came and picked me up and now I'm doing so much better!

Once the nice rescue people went through my paperwork, they realized I wasn't 10 years old - I was closer to 16!  I'm actually in really good health except my teeth.  They are in horrendous condition and I need several of them pulled.  I'm in a LOT of pain in my mouth right now too.  But I'm just so happy that I'm not at that scary shelter any more that I'm trying to do my best to not cause problems.  My foster mom is checking into getting me some help with my mouth so that will be great!

Since I need my mouth taken care of and that might get expensive, I hope that you might consider helping me with those expenses.  If you can donate to my care for my teeth, I would be so grateful!  I'm so happy and thankful that I have been rescued from the shelter!  Thanks for helping me!!

Lady Snow

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
