Hi everyone! I'm Nicky. I was taken away from my owners by animal
control because they did bad things to me. I wound up in a shelter in
PA where I waited for a friend for over two months. A friend finally
came and I'm living with her now in Randallstown, MD. I am blind and
lame (my back legs were broken at one point; AC suspects I was thrown
from a two-story window) but I am a real trooper and get around just
fine. My favorite thing in the world is to just be close to my
friend. She has lots of other dogs here and they make me nervous so if
I could go somewhere without dogs or with only very mellow dogs I would
be tha happiest little eskimo boy ever. Please let my friend (Heidi at
hortmeye@gmail.com) know if you are interested in fostering or adopting
me.
Update: I had my teeth cleaned yesterday (12/7) and my mouth feels so good. I love spending time in the yard or on the couch, wherever my friend is at the moment. I can't navigate stairs but I'm such a little fellow my friend just picks me up and takes me wherever she's going. Update: I was seen by the ophthalmologist today (12/22/09). I do not have glaucoma or inflammation. I do have retinal degeneration and cataracts but I do not require any treatment; removal of the cataracts would not improve my vision. To see a short movie of me navigating through the snow (MD blizzard of '09) please copy and paste this into your browser: http://www.4shared.com/file/178315587/26e88541/Nicky_clip.html Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. |
