Bear is a beautiful and sweet young (DOB 12/21) eskie boy. Sadly, his owner passed away and he found himself in a shelter for a few weeks before he came to ERU. Bear is great with my four senior eskies, very respectful and does not try and take their food or treats (they are all fed at the same time in the same room). Bear loves his daily walks, car rides, and his fenced in yard. So far he has shown no interest in the deer or squirrels. Bear sleeps on his dog bed by my bed through the night. He is housetrained. We found out from friends of the owner that the owner stayed at home for the most part, rarely leaving, and he did not walk Bear. We are looking for an adopter who will be committed to walking Bear and continuing to provide him opportunities to meet new people and dogs, something he did not expereince for several years. Bear in heartworm and Lyme negative. Please contact Bear's foster mom, Heidi, if you have any Qs. Heidi@eskierescuers.org

Good with Dogs
Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers. There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
