Frisco likes being near his people, in fact he is not happy if he is not inside if you are, or not outside if you are. That said, he has never really been a lap dog or much of a cuddler. He is content laying at your feet. He gets along fine with either men or women and has daily exposure to both. He does enjoy being a shadow & is very treat oriented. He is known for his monkey sounds & is very agile and playful, easily excited. Will run along the fence to guard our property every 30 mins or so if we are hanging around the deck & chase squirrels in the backyard for hours! We have alot of trees and an abundance of squirrels. He really needs a fenced yard to run & play in. Although he is an indoor pup, he loves his time in the yard. He loves his car rides! He is not great on a leash but someone more skilled with training could correct that I am confident. His most negative behaviors are leash pulling, pushing by you to get outside, jumping up on you or on the wall by the back door to go out and his barking can be excessive. He would not make a great apartment dog because of this. He needs room to run & play freely. He does enjoy his crate and goes to it voluntarily when he knows I'm leaving or going up to bed.
Co (his nickname) is very good natured. I believe he would do well with a family, couple, or an individual unless they were gone for long periods of time. There is almost always someone in or out of the house most of the day so he is rarely alone. He will not play with or fetch a ball, but adores his lovies, especially his lamb chop toys! He loves any toy with faces and really enjoys unwrapping his gifts himself. He loves sticks too. Frisco has never chewed a cord, belt, shoe, furniture. He is not destructive. He does require a slow feeder - otherwise he eats too fast and will spit it up. Same with his water. Once his vet recommended this, it was a game changer. He is really hyperactive- you wouldn't believe he's a day over 12mos old!
