Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog.
Hi my name is Laika. Do you know where that name came from? I was named after the first dog in space. I am a 5 year old American Eskimo girl. I only weigh about 20 lbs. I am heading into the HOPE program and will not be available to go to my forever home for a few weeks.
What is the HOPE program you say?? http://www.hopedogs.org/ Well it is a program where dogs like me, ok I dont like strangers too much, go to learn all the basics on how to be a great dog. I will be living in the Camp Hill Correctional Institution with the inmates for at least 6 weeks could be as long as 12 weeks depends on how good I do. From my fellow eskies before me, I would say I will be there only the 6 weeks because us eskies are super smart. If you are interested in me, I would suggest you get your application in right away. Because all that have gone into the program before me have actually been adopted before they even completed the program. Who wouldn't want a dog who has had 6-12 weeks of intensive training. I know how to walk on a leash perfectly. I also know sit, and roll over. I will dance for treats also. I am not too good at down because I get so excited I roll over instead of just down. I give extra special kiss's and love to give you kiss's. I will not be around long. So if you are interested in me you better hurry up and get your application in soon. I am located in Camp Hill, Pa.
