Hi my name is Dakota and I was rescued from a shelter by a really great foster mom. I am only 3 years old and I love chewies! The first place she took me was the groomers! Well once the groomer got through all the matted hair it was discovered I was intact! I had a lot of grass burrs imbedded into my skin that was one of the reasons I did not like the massaging of my back those shelter people did. I snarled at them to let them know too. I was a real gentleman for the groomer though with no growling or snapping as she pulled those burrs from my skin. I was just so glad to get those itchy things out! Where is my chewie?

I have some sores and still have some pretty badly embedded burrs so the vet is going to see about getting those out when she neuters me! Whatever! Just make sure I have a chewie waiting for me when I am done.

The foster mom sees how smart and independent I am and I respect her for that and do my best to follow her instructions. I let her know when I need to go out in the fenced yard she has put up for us. I also go into the kennel for car rides and bedtime as long as my chewie goes with me.

Lets talk a bit about chewies. Did I say I love my chewies? I am very protective of my chewies. Cody my shelter mate who is also here learned not to even walk by me if I have my chewie. I am only protective of my chewies though not my food.

I will have more statistical information for you after this weekend but right now I will let you know I have been DEBARKED. Don’t even want to recall that experience!

So if you would like to hear more about me to see if you might be my furever family contact Debra at drr724@yahoo.com

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
