Ruff! Ruff! That's what I said to the lady who came to see me at the shelter. She found me in the isolation room during cleaning time. All of the dogs were barking, so I barked too, because I didn't know who she was. Boy, am I glad that she took me away from that dirty kennel, from all the doggie messes and the yucky smell! It wasn't the place for a lady like myself. Hi, I'm Esme!


The shelter found me as a stray. I don't remember much about my life before, but there are clues that no matter what, I'm a lot better off now that the rescue saved me. My nails were very, very long (too long for a lady, I'm told) and I had to have 10 teeth pulled!! I also got "fixed," whatever that means! Other than losing those teeth, I am a healthy, happy girl!


I can't wait to have a home with a family who loves me. I get along well with other dogs. I'm still learning about cats. They are pretty fun to chase. I'm in a foster home with a few of them and my foster Daddy said he's going to have to teach me to get along with them. I haven't met any little humans yet, so I don't know how I feel about them.


Though the shelter said I was 8, since my teeth are so bad, a better estimate is 6-8. Don't count me out because I'm a little older than the others. My rescuer said I was a precious girl who deserves the best forever home!

Good with Dogs

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
