Hi everyone!  I am Nikki, a sweet lovable senior eskie girl.  I was given up by my owner of 12 years to a kill shelter in VA.  Thankfully an eskie angel was watching out for me and she contacted ERU.  I had to spend my first two days out of the shelter in a clinic due to my severely neglected condition (fleas, earmites, matted hair, impacted anal glands, impacted teeth, etc.) but I am feeling great now.  I have so much love to give and everyone who meets me has their heart melted.  I am hard of hearing but I respond to my foster mommy when she whistles.  I like to stay right by her side of course and I keep my eye on her when I'm not sleeping.  I get along great with the other male and female eskies here.  I would be fine with gentle, mature children.  I love to go on walks and I do well on short and long trips.  I tested positive for Lyme and have already started treatment.  I do not have any symptoms of Lyme so I should be 100% clear of Lyme in a few months.  I am looking for a kindred spirit (a kind and gentle soul) to make me a part of their family.  If that is you please e-mail my foster mommy Heidi at hortmeye@gmail.com

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
