*** Atlanta, GA***

Hello there from the Atlanta, GA area.  My name is Cotton.  Although Im just a little guy, dont let my size fool ya :-)  Ive got the heart of a teddy bear and a lion, all in one.  Im not sure how I ended up being picked up by Animal Control, I was somebodies loved pet at one time.  When nobody came to get me out of doggie jail, the nice shelter people called Eskie Rescuers, who came to my rescue.  I think Im just perfect, but will let my foster mommy tell you a little about me.

Cotton is one of the smaller eskies, weighing in about 15 lbs.  Our best guess is that he was probably at one time owned by an older woman.  He loves his foster mommy tons and was at first not very trusting of his foster daddy, but hes even warmed up to him.  Cotton is a protector doggie and makes no bones about protecting the lady in his life.  He will require an experienced eskie/dog owner who will spend time working with him to let him know that hes not the man of the house and that other people are okay too.  Hes also protective of his food..hey you never know who may want to steal his delicious dog food.

Hes very devoted to his foster mommy and will curl up to sleep with you if you let him.  He will follow you around all the time..you never know, somebody may want to sneak up on ya :-)  He loves a good belly rub, is good on drives and wont chew up things in your home.  Hes up to date on his shots, heartworm negative and had a dental.

If you are considering adopting Cotton, know that he will require a firm hand and training to work on his "stranger" manners.  But he is also a love bug.

UPDATE - Cotton has grown "grumpier" as time has passed.  While his foster family loves him and will provide him a loving home, it wouldnt be a good idea to rehome him.  ERU will continue to be responsible for his vetting bills.  Cotton is now available for SPONSORSHIP ONLY.  Please consider donating for his continued care.

Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
